Graphic design trends vary from year to year. Some trends stick, and others...well, not so much. This is because graphic design is always on a constant move. People are looking to innovate and get creative, and simply make things more eye-catching. Which is always great. For starters, 2018 has been a very colorful year. There were some brands that made some bold moves and rebranded with a color scheme. Plus a lot of classic designs got revamped and modernized. But 2018 is going to be coming to an end soon, which means it’s time to take a look at what we think will take over next year with our very own 2019 graphic design trends!
Gradients have been really popular these last couple of years, and we expect it will still be in 2019. It has been integrated with almost everything from website backgrounds, to logos, and pictures. It definitely gives the image the little “oomph” it needs. We expect that watercolor gradient style will also continue to grow.
Depending on what your brand is going for, typography is one of those things you simply cannot turn a blind eye to. It gives your page character and its unique style makes the user experience special if done correctly. Some people have gone out to create their own unique style of typography to give their page that one-of-a-kind feeling. In 2019 that trend might continue since it allows businesses to bring in people to their page and have them interact longer without the need of bulky lettering. Which by the way, is also not going anywhere any time soon, since bulky and large header lettering is a favorite among web page designers.
We are almost 100 percent sure that you have seen at one point or another a plain image with just a tad bit of movement in it. It looks trippy, but also amazing. This is really unique and brands will probably use this more to their advantage in 2019. It gives them the opportunity to showcase their work (depending on what it is) and make it stand out from simple pictures. It gives viewers the desire to keep scrolling or keep reading to learn more about the animated image. Not sure what we mean? Envato's Photo Animator Contest Finalist and Winners video is a great testament to just how powerful these images can be if used adequately. What do you think about these trends?
