Recipe for Success in Digital Marketing

Abby Costello

When it comes to digital marketing, there are many options available to you. The goal is to select the ones that will be the most effective for your business and use them in a way that will result in conversions. Here’s what we recommend:

Blogs

Blogging should absolutely be a part of your digital marketing strategy. It is a relatively simple task, but if you want a blog that results in engagement, shares, and subscribers, you must do some planning. Know what you want to tell people and what you want them to do with the information. You will also need to decide who you are targeting on both a macro and micro level as far as your blog as a whole and individual blog posts. Stay consistent with your brand in your blog posts; the same values you share on your website and social media should also be present in your blog. Don’t be afraid to give your opinions, either; your audience wants to know what you think!

Social Media

Having an active social media presence on platforms such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram leads to brand familiarity. It can also be used to develop relationships and drive leads. A good social media strategy must include a plan for using targeting keywords as well as optimizing for social media searches and search engines. Have a purpose for each post, whether it be to generate conversation, build relationships, or establish expertise.

Videos

Video content has great potential to boost SEO, generate leads, and create engagement. Each video should have a single purpose and should be short, sweet, and to the point. You can create videos to explain the history of your company, to introduce a new product, to give a demonstration of a product, etc. Be sure to invest in good production quality, such as the creative team at Red Shark Digital.

Photos/Images

Nothing increases trust more than seeing a real human face behind a company. Include photographs of your team on your social media platforms, website, and even in your blogs. Images are also effective when used in blog posts and articles as a way to demonstrate a visual and illustrate a point that may have otherwise taken a few paragraphs to write out. When placing images throughout your website, be sure to edit the alt text for better SEO results.

Newsletters

Email newsletters are a great way to keep users informed and to drive traffic to your website. Each letter should include three to six articles. Include the intro and a short blurb, then link to your website for the remainder of the post. Always include some visual or video content in your newsletter.

These are just a few of the ingredients in a recipe for success in digital marketing. If you aren’t quite sure where to begin, Red Shark Digital can help.
