What is the difference between logistics & shipping?

Logistics and shipping are terms that are often used interchangeably, but there is a difference between the two. Logistics is the process of planning, organizing, and executing the transportation and storage of goods and materials. Shipping is the actual transportation of the goods and materials. So, shipping is a part of logistics, but logistics is a much broader term that encompasses other aspects of the supply chain.
