Hi, I'm Kate! I am a Digital Strategist at Red Shark Digital, specializing in Communication and Engagement. I received my bachelor's degree in communication with a concentration in public relations and am receiving my master's in strategic communication in May of 2023. As a military kid, I’ve spent time in different parts of the world, but Washington, D.C. is home. After my family finally settled in eastern North Carolina, I decided to attend East Carolina University. There, I got involved with Pirate Media 1 where I learned a lot about photojournalism, writing, and teamwork. Even though I worked there as the creative director and photographer, there is where I discovered that I wanted to turn my writing hobby into a profession.

Speaking of writing, I don’t remember a time when I didn't like writing. In fact, I started writing my first book when I was 12! It was a short 50-page novel called Claw and it was about a girl and her team of sled dogs that were training for the Alaskan Iditarod. I started writing it because my English teacher had us write for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) but I loved it so much that I continued writing until a year or two later when I finally finished it. Since then, I love it when I'm assigned papers, and I’m so grateful that I can use my passion for writing every day at Red Shark Digital!
