Here at Red Shark Digital, digital marketing Greenville NC, we get the opportunity to work on some pretty cool marketing video production projects. From starting with discovery to taking a brand to market, there are endless possibilities to incorporate marketing video production. One of our clients, Sesame Technologies, is currently in the process of building a new website to showcase their aircraft instrument protection covers. During this project, our digital marketing Greenville NC team has had the opportunity to work on a variety of unique creatives. Let’s take a look behind the scenes at shooting a marketing video production project with Red Shark Digital.
While most people tend to be excited about the day of the shoot, and rightfully so, any good marketing video production project starts with planning. For this project, we wanted to utilize a blend of both on-location production as well as studio work for exceptional campaign results. After talking with Ryan and David over at Sesame Technologies, we came up with a game plan to showcase their products following the entire product journey from engineering through manufacturing. We split up the shoot into two parts. Phase one comprises on-location video at both their facility and an undisclosed hanger to film their products in use on a jet. Phase two consists of all the studio work to firm the products for the website. During this phase, we would film a “teaser,” so to speak, of each product, highlighting the product over a background that consists of the red and black color scheme Sesame Technologies possesses.
Upon the arrival of our phase one shoot day, the marketing video production team headed off to the undisclosed hanger to begin filming the Sesame Technologies products in action. After being hit with an unforeseen time crunch, we prepped our gear and began to shoot as much as we could within our 30-minute time window. To keep the aircraft tail serial number confidential, we focused on the products within and around the aircraft, along with the installation/removal process.
After the jet left for takeoff, our team headed to the Sesame facility. As we had discussed in our preparation for the shoot, our end goal was to showcase the product journey from design and engineering to product manufacturing. We covered several core areas of the Sesame facility, including kevlar production, welding, and 3D SolidWorks modeling. Once we completed all of the needed deliverables, we were ready to move on to phase two.
As we moved onto phase two, our preparation came into play once more. When dealing with over 100+ products, most of which look very similar, planning is essential to ensure our marketing video production team can capture all of the needed creatives. Utilizing several creative elements such as light painting, we retrieved eye-catching results that tease each product category to maintain user engagement when on the new website. Throughout this process, our marketing video production professionals created several adaptations in the lighting and backdrop to ensure the final result was razor sharp and had optimal lighting.
Marketing video production is all about planning. Many variables can change in the blink of an eye that could require different equipment, different lighting, additional people, etc. Taking the time to walk through each digital marketing near me project and plan each step can go a long way for the actual shoot dates for the project.
