Hi! My name is Christopher Parker, and I am thrilled to be joining Red Shark Digital, a digital marketing agency in Greenville NC, as a marketing intern. I’m from Wendell, and currently in my final year at East Carolina University, where I am a double major in Marketing and Management Information Systems. I am a member of the ECU Honors College and plan to graduate in the Spring.

My Journey in Marketing and Content Creation

I’ve always had a passion for promoting and creating content, something that has carried into both my personal and professional life. Growing up in a very large family of singers and artists, I was surrounded by creativity from a young age. That influence helped me discover a side of myself that is deeply creative, but also heavily analytical.

When it comes to creating content, I’ve realized I want to work at the intersection of both sides: the creative side (editing, writing, and storytelling) and the analytical side (statistics, demographics, and SEO). I am passionate about learning everything that goes into promoting brands, organizations, and people, ensuring that the work I produce is not only engaging but also backed by strategy.

Throughout my journey, I’ve been involved in a variety of projects, from trade work service postings to viral YouTube Shorts. No matter the platform or project, my focus is always on advocating for the people I am marketing for and making sure their stories are represented in the best way possible.

Likes

• Editing content: I’ve created Instagram reels and YouTube Shorts that range from dance covers to behind-the-scenes content, with one short recently hitting 2.2 million views.
• Watching reality TV competition shows: My favorites are Survivor & Big Brother (fun fact: I’ve applied to be on Big Brother twice!)
• Learning choreography: I currently serve as Vice President of an ECU on-campus student organization focused on dancing, performance, and outreach, and I’m also a member of a Raleigh-based dance crew, Priism.

Dislikes

• Being disorganized: I’m a very type A person and love a good, streamlined desk layout.
• Too many unread emails: As soon as I see a notification, I need to read it.

Final Thoughts

I’m incredibly excited to be part of the Red Shark Digital team, where I can continue building my skills, learn from like-minded professionals, and apply my creativity and strategy to real-world projects. This opportunity is the perfect step in combining my passions for content creation, digital marketing Greenville, NC, and technology and I can’t wait to see where it takes me!
