A Few Fall Things

Matt Mitchell

Fall is that beautiful time of year when the wind gets crisp, and the leaves get crunchy. It’s a season that takes us from summer sweats to winter chills. And for many people out there, fall is a time for special events with savory foods. We’ve combined each employee's fall loves to give you a few of our favorite fall things:

Long Walks In The Trees

Whether we are walking down our local Greenville Greenway, or across Blowing Rock, a long walk through the trees is a beautiful way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Seeing the leaves transition from summer to winter is a beautiful moment in time.

Pumpkin Spice Everything

From pumpkin beer to pumpkin pie, we believe that fall=pumpkin. You can’t go through fall without seeing a carved up pumpkin, or seeing pumpkin spiced lattes in everyone’s hands. Our in-house pumpkin lover has shared her favorite pumpkin-spice creamer so you too can enjoy the fall all-year round.

Grab a blender & add ingredients:

1 Bottle of Your Favorite Vanilla Coffee Creamer

¼ Cup of 100% pumpkin puree

¼ tsp pumpkin pie spice

¼ tsp ground cinnamon

Blend Until Smooth, add back into original bottle or your own dispenser.

Keep in refrigerator & enjoy!

Long-Sleeve Loving

Whether you love bundling up in an oversized sweater, or adding a long-sleeve shirt to your afternoon attire, fall weather brings long-sleeves. Some of us enjoy pushing up those sleeves to get to work, or just enjoying the comfort and warmth of a constant hug.

Festive Foods

It might be the smell of Apple Cider in the air that gets your fall juices flowing, or the excitement of sitting down to a big turkey dinner. Either way, fall brings with it scrumptious feasts. Be sure you’ve got those elastic pants nearby because even just thinking about pumpkin, pecan, chocolate, or apple pie gets our guts growing.

Football Fanatics

Here in eastern North Carolina we cheer on the ECU Pirates, but anywhere in the country football’s season of tailgating has begun. You could be into high school, college or professional, but football consumes your Friday nights through Sunday afternoons (and even during the week). It might be getting up early in the morning Saturday to snatch your coveted tailgate spot, or just the idea of screaming for the touchdown that gets you up revved up, but either way you’ve bought your tickets way back in the spring to prepare you for the boys of fall.

Cool & Crisp

As we move from sweating to freezing, there is that beautiful time where we enjoy our sweaters, boots and just breathe in air that just smells clean. The fall weather is unlike any other and gives us hope that our nights spent by a warm bonfire will never end.

Unfortunately, our bonfires will smolder down and the trees will lose their leaves as the Christmas season comes around the mountain. Those of us who are true to fall will drink those pumpkin-spice lattes year round and sweat in our long-sleeved shirts in summer time. If you have a fall favorite that we didn’t mention above, please share it below in the comments!
