Hi there! My name is Katy Fulkerson, and I am one of the new graphic design interns at Red Shark Digital. I grew up in Scotland Neck, North Carolina, and have lived around the area my whole life! I am working on a BS in graphic design with a minor in creative writing at Liberty University. I have three dogs and a cat, which can be quite a handful! I love animals and the outdoors, and my passion is taking the gifts God has given me and the skills I have learned to create something beautiful and productive; hence, I chose to make a career in graphic design. My career goals are to become a professional graphic designer for either a creative design agency or as a freelancer and to self-publish my own book series one day.

Katy's Likes and Dislikes

Likes

• Coffee: Coffee is my comfort food. A good cup of hot coffee is the way to start the day! My favorite place to get coffee and hang out with my friends is the White Hart Cafe, although sadly, there is not one in Greenville.
• Biking: After Taekwondo and swimming, biking has always been one of my favorite sports - bonus points for conveniently being much more fun than running.
• Birds: I have a soft spot for parrots and pet birds, like pigeons or doves. Parrots can be difficult to care for, but they are nonetheless full of charming personalities! One of my childhood favorite parks is Sylvan Heights Bird Park, which has all kinds of magnificent birds from all over the world.
• Sci-fi: I enjoy watching sci-fi movies, and I love thinking about the possibilities that the genre has to offer. One of my long-time hobbies is drawing concepts of what aliens could look like and other forms of creature design. Artists like Valentino Lasso and Mel Cabre on Instagram are big inspirations to me!

Dislikes

• Large crowds: There are way too many people, which gets way too chaotic for me.
• Slimy textures: I need to eat more fruit but hate healthy foods' texture too much.
• Slugs: All animals are great! Except this one!
• Thunderstorms: No kidding. I feel like an anxious dog whenever I hear thunder outside. Lightning is scary, man.
