Digital Marketing Internships 2019: Introducing Abby

Red Shark Digital

My name is Abby McVeigh and I am the new Digital Marketing Intern at Red Shark Digital. I am from Wilson, NC and I plan to graduate from East Carolina University in May of 2019 with a degree in Business Marketing. I chose to become a Business major because I knew that it would open up a world of opportunities for me. I truly appreciate the fact that you can do almost anything with a Business degree, and I plan to utilize that aspect to the fullest advantage.

I was a dancer for 18 years of my life, where I performed in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Pointe, and Hip-Hop (my favorite!). I absolutely love Chris Brown and I am so intrigued by his dancing. After I finished out my dancing days, I was unsure of what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I come from a huge family; my dad has eight siblings, many of whom were Business majors in college. Seeing their success really inspired me and gave me the confidence that I need in order to succeed. I have worked as a server at Kickback Jack’s of Greenville, NC for the past three years, and while I absolutely love my job, I am eager to take on jobs that are directly related to my major. Here at Red Shark Digital, I am so excited to learn about all things Digital Marketing.

Social media has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and utilizing the internet as a marketing tool is becoming more and more important as the world changes. I have loved working with computers since I was very young and navigating computers has always come naturally to me. I am currently the VSCO/Tumblr chair for my sorority, where I have the responsibility to advertise our sorority in a positive light across social media channels. It has been such an enjoyable experience to be able to express my creativity with editing and posting photos. With that being said, I can’t wait to learn all the new and exciting things that Red Shark has in store for me, and I am sure that I will catch on quickly!

With graduation just around the corner, I am so thankful for the opportunity to intern at Red Shark Digital as a way to guide me on my path for the future. My time spent here will be used to learn, grow, and expand my knowledge of Digital Marketing. I have lots of creativity to offer, great organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail. I look forward to working with Red Shark Digital and I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the team!
