Hi! My name is Emily, and I am the new Project Manager at Red Shark Digital. I am originally from New Hampshire but moved to North Carolina six years ago for warmer weather. Someone should have told me to be careful what I wish for. In all seriousness, I do enjoy the weather here, although sometimes I do miss snow. Since moving, I have worked in a variety of industries where I gained a lot of operational experience. I recently completed my degree in Software Development from University of Phoenix.

Passions

Animals

I love all animals. I currently have an 18-year-old miniature dachshund and a 13-year-old tortoiseshell cat. I am passionate about helping animals whenever I can. I have saved a bat, some chipmunks, quite a few turtles, and two kittens.

CrossFit

Yes, I am “one of those.” I love my gym and the community that comes with it. It’s where I met some of my closest friends after moving to NC. I did gymnastics growing up, and CrossFit allows me to use similar skills to stay active as I get older.

Hiking

This is a newfound hobby of mine. I hiked Mount Washington in New Hampshire in 2017 and fell in love. Whenever I visit home in the summer, I choose a new mountain to hike. I look forward to exploring the mountains in North Carolina and other states.

Movies/TV

I am also somewhat of a movie buff. Throughout middle school and high school, my family and I went to the movie theater every single weekend. Don’t ask me what my favorite movie is. I will list about 20 and then keep throwing more out there when I think of them. My list of favorite TV shows is getting pretty long too, but Friends, Lost, and The Offer are the first that come to mind.

Pet Peeves

Incorrect grammar.

I am a stickler for grammar and spelling. I will always correct myself even if I notice a typo too late. And if I’m comfortable enough with someone, I’ll correct them too.

Asymmetry

I have a background in interior design and merchandising, so I notice when something “doesn’t look right.” My desire for balance and order carries over into my work as well.

Being Cold

I can’t function when I’m cold. Space heaters and heated blankets are my favorite.

Fears

Roaches, cicadas, junebugs, and other giant bugs. We didn’t have these in New Hampshire. Bugs are small in New Hampshire. I’m not over this.
