My name is Olivia Bartol and I am one of the new Digital Marketing Interns at Red Shark Digital. I recently graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Business Marketing. I will be continuing my education at ECU in the fall to obtain a Master’s in Business Administration. I am very enthusiastic about this next chapter and grateful that I don’t have to leave Greenville and my friends just yet.
My friends would describe me as being very silly and free-spirited. I don’t take life too seriously and I enjoy quality time with my friends and family. I go to the beach every chance I get and when I have free weekends I love going home to see my puppy. I love the summer and I am eager to spend my summer learning more about Red Shark Digital and the industry.
When I began school at ECU I was very unsure of what I wanted to do. I had considered becoming a Physician’s Assistant; however, I came to realize that I wanted a career that was more fun and creative. I found myself feeling extremely comfortable in my business classes and from there I found my passion in marketing. I love marketing because it is so different from most business degrees. It allows you to be unique and innovative, rather than cookie cutter and by the book. During my college career, I took on leadership positions within class projects and through my sorority. I served on the Executive Board of my sorority as the Recording Secretary during my sophomore and junior year. This role allowed me to grow my confidence and love of leadership. A career goal of mine is to become a Brand Manager and I am optimistic about all of the possibilities this internship will allow me in the future.
As a Red Shark Digital Intern, I hope to learn more about behind the scenes of a marketing company. I have heard the lectures and read the textbooks, but now I am ready to gain real-world experience. I am very interested in the digital advertising design aspect, which is something I had never considered until now. I am excited about my time here and can’t wait to get to know the team better.
