My name is Steven Chavez and I’m the new Client Services Intern here at Red Shark Digital. I’m a local from Greenville, NC and recently graduated from ECU with a degree in Marketing. I have always been interested in doing marketing and sales since sophomore year. My most recent work experience in Madrid taught me a lot about working with startup companies. Not only was I able to learn a lot about new software being developed by startups there, but was also able to immerse myself in Spanish culture. International marketing and sales are what I am ultimately striving to work towards.

While working abroad, I learned how to run social media campaigns as well as work on the creative side of marketing. Specifically designing logos and apparel via Adobe Photoshop. I feel that being creative is really important, especially in a world that is really engaged with visual media.

What I really want to learn while here at Red Shark is how to successfully create an SEM/SEO campaign as well as how to code. These two skills are really important in digital marketing and are what companies need. What I can offer Red Shark in return is my creative side of marketing, as well as my previous sales experience.

I’m a big sports enthusiast that enjoys all forms of sports. I’ve played plenty of them but the one I enjoy the most is soccer. I’m a center attacking mid and have a very competitive mindset. Like Ricky Bobby said, “if you’re not first, you’re last.” Also, Hala Madrid!

Learning new languages is also a hobby of mine. Currently, I’m working on improving my Portuguese, French, and Italian. I’m bilingual (Spanish), as of now, but want to be trilingual in 2 years. Another hobby I really enjoy is cooking, I make the best Chicken Parmesan, no joke. My family is from Peru and it is one of the best cuisines in the world. If you haven’t tried Peruvian food, I highly recommend it.
